Release:
Yoga Week is an initiative created by Yoga Australia, Australia’s peak body for yoga, to raise awareness about and celebrate the supporting role that yoga plays in the health and wellbeing of all.
More and more individuals are engaging in yoga and seeking out one-on-one yoga therapy. Yoga Week highlights the pivotal role that yoga teachers, yoga therapists, and yoga trainers play in communities around the world.
Yoga Australia has created both the inspiration and a platform for yoga professionals to share information and events, both in-person and online, that can be promoted through professional and social media avenues.
As an extension of International Yoga Day (21 June), the activities held throughout Yoga Week provide a unique opportunity for everyone in the community to come together to learn, connect, and experience yoga first-hand with events, resources, talks, and meet-ups presented by yoga professionals from all traditions, lineages, and styles.
The aim is to highlight the benefits of yoga as a practice and a therapy for physical and mental wellbeing, and to make it easier for Australians to find a yoga teacher or yoga therapist near them.
Yoga practice has been shown to assist in the management of specific health issues and medical conditions. Regular yoga practice may also exert a healthy lifestyle effect…and reduced stress with resulting cost benefits to the community. [Penman S, Cohen M, Stevens P, Jackson S.
